Her Story

Rebekah was born on Nov. 20, 1986. Her parents are Charles and Diane Jordan. She has 1 sister and 2 brothers. Rebekah also has 4 nieces and 6 nephews. Her father currently pastors The Church of God of Prophecy in Indiana. "Christ has been a big part of my life", Rebekah says. Rebekah was born with a congenital heart disease, called Ebstein’s Anomaly. Rebekah has had 2 open heart surgeries and 3 closed. The first open heart being at 3 days old. The second surgery at 10 days old. At 17 months old Rebekah had surgery for a Glenn shunt. Another open heart surgery at age 8, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. "God is so good!" According to doctors her pig valve would last 12 yrs. max and it’s been 21. Now at age 29 Rebekah is headed back to the Mayo Clinic for open heart surgery to have her tricuspid valve, and pulmonary valve replaced. The tricuspid valve will be replaced for the second time. Rebekah wasn’t given much hope but God has other plans. Her favorite passage of scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Rebekah says “I’ve been blessed with a wonderful Christian family. God has brought me so far and I’ve lived beyond doctor’s expectations. Sometimes in life we think we have no purpose, or ask ourselves what am I here for? Pray, God will show you in his time. Everyone has a purpose in life. Seek God for a vision. My life has not been easy, but God has given me wonderful people to help me on life’s journey.” Rebekah has been singing since age 5. At the age of 21 doors started to open. Rebekah accepted her call into the singing ministry and working with young people to help change their lives. She released her first CD, “Tied Together With God’s Love” in 2007. CDs’ are $12.
